After the great success that Noor Al Hussein Foundation achieved in
implementing Qudorat phase one program, which was funded by Ministry of Planning
and International Cooperation / Enhanced Social Productivity Programs, the
foundation is now implementing phase two of the Qudorat Program in the following
governorates (Amman, Zarqa, Mafraq, Madaba, Karak and Tafila) over the duration
of 24-months.
This goes Under the Jordanian Government’s initiatives for eradicating
unemployment and poverty in order to accelerate the pace of social and economic
reform and raise the quality and standard of living of Jordanians.
QUDURAT (meaning capacities in Arabic) is a national program designed to
promote the abilities of local community Based Organization (CBOs) across Jordan
to lead economic development initiatives through effective community engagement
and professional design and management of sustainable income-generating
projects, by building the capacity of local CBOs all over the Kingdom and
provide them with means to establish and manage their own income-generating
projects (IGPs) to leverage the living standards of their communities in a
sustainable manner.
Promoting local economic development is the key to the sustainability of the
income generating projects through effective cross-sector partnerships with the
private and public sectors. Building the capacity of CBOs in the business arena
will help attract the private sector to partner with the CBO sector, as well as
leverage the participation of BDS providers.
